This Maytag range does have custom broil. You are able to change the broil in 5 degree increments down to 300 degrees. Thank you for viewing this Maytag Electric Freestanding Range.

There are not any restrictions on the types of pans that can be used on a glass cooktop surface.

The recommended cleaning method is stated below and pulled from the use and care manual.
Cleaning Method:
Cooktop Cleaner Part Number 31464 is recommended regularly to
help avoid scratches, pitting and abrasions and to condition the
cooktop.
Cooktop Scraper Part Number WA906B is also recommended for
stubborn soils. These can be ordered as accessories. See cover for
contact information. The Cooktop Scraper uses razor blades. Store
razor blades out of the reach of children.
Do not use steel wool, abrasive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach,
rust remover or ammonia because damage may occur.

The additional item needed for this appliance to operate is the range cord. Every electric range does not come with an electrical cord. There are typically two different types of outlets used to plug in the range. They are either a 3 prong outlet or 4 prong outlet. You would need to verify your outlet type, then when you order, during the checkout process you will be prompted to choose which cord is needed for you. You are able to use cast iron pans on this Maytag Freestanding Range. Below I have pasted from the use and care guide the importance of using proper size pans. This should help clarify some also. Thank you for viewing this Maytag Home Appliance.

Use Proper Pan Size – The range is equipped with one or
more surface units of different size. Select utensils having
flat bottoms large enough to cover the surface unit heating
element. The use of undersized utensils will expose a
portion of the heating element to direct contact and may
result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationship of utensil to
burner will also improve efficiency.

You are correct that timers will turn off a microwave oven. However, when baking in a conventional oven, the timer serves to let you know that what you are baking needs to be removed from the oven. At that point you would turn the oven off.

If the timer just turned off the oven, whatever you were baking would continue to bake long after with results you would not likely appreciate.

This Maytag range does not have a steam clean option on it. At this time, we do not offer a range with Steam Clean. However, we do offer a New and Exciting line of Maytag Range with AquaLift Technology. This allows you to self clean your oven in less than hour and with no odors. If you have this Model that features the self-clean mode, it locks automatically. You will see that there is no manual lock on the unit.

Any of the Maytag Stainless Steel Ranges will match the other Stainless Steel Maytag Home Appliances. Monochromatic Stainless Steel is still Stainless. For a refrigerator, it means that the doors and handles are SS. The cabinet, base grille, and dispenser is finished in Apollo Grey to provide a consistent look and compliment the SS. For the dishwashers, the console is finished in Apollo Grey. There is not a monochromatic finish for the ranges, they are finished in Black on SS, however all of the appliances look great together. This allows time for the most recently used areas to cool.

area or element.
Do not place canner on 2 surface cooking areas, elements or

Cast iron cookware is fine to use on this Maytag Freestanding Electric Range. I would suggest when cooking with it to pick the pots/pans directly up and placing them directly onto the cooking surface and not slide them around as to prevent any type of damage. However, there aren't any restrictions against using this type of cookware.

A freestanding range is designed to slide into an open space similar to how to refrigerator would. A drop in range typically will rest on top of cabinetry. However with some modifications made to the kitchen, a freestanding range could fit in a drop in space.
