the fuse blew on my GE dual wave 2 microwave, it did this some years ago and I replaced the 15 amp fuse and all was well, NOW I have put in two fuses and both of them blew when I went to use the microwave (.10 second test)
Could it be bad fuses or is it some thing else.
(I looked/checked all the connections and all look well and nothing is touching anything else)

Hello Bev,

Microwave ovens are extremely difficult to diagnose. There are many components
in a microwave that can cause similar symptoms. For safety reasons, GE offers no
do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to:

*Safety requirements due to high voltage (capacitor hold a high voltage charge even
after it has been unplugged)
*Complexity of electronic circuitry.
*Special equipment needed to make diagnosis.

I recommend contacting GE Consumer Service to have it properly diagnosed.

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you.

If your countertop microwave is built-in, then it required the trim kit #JX1527MBW or JX1530MBW. These trim kits required the following cabinet cutout dimensions: Width 24-1/8" (+/- 1/8"); Height 17-9/16" (+/- 1/16"); Depth 21" minimum with non-recessed plug, 19" minimum with recessed plug.

If you are replacing the microwave, the best option would be the PEB7226SFSS. The required trim kit is either JX7227 or JX7230 and requires the following cabinet cutout dimensions: 16-3/4" +/- 1/8" High, 25-1/2" +/- 1/8" Wide, x 19-1/2" - 22" minimum Deep, so some adjustments to your cabinet opening will be needed.

I hope this helps! Thank you for contacting GE!

Hello Astrosmurfboy - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you with regard to a replacement model for your 27" double-wall oven microwave combination unit.

The JKP78G0K required cabinet cutout dimensions of: 41-1/4"H x 24-3/4"W x 24"D. The cutout dimensions for the JKP90DPBB are very similar. So the JKP90DPBB would be an excellent choice for a replacement model.

I hope this helps! We appreciate you contacting GE!

Hello Tracy,

This is Nancy from GE. I am happy to help you.

The cutout dimensions on your current 27” microwave/wall oven unit are: (WxHxD) 24-3/4" x 41-1/4" x 24"

A 27” double wall oven would require a cutout height of 49-11/16”.

If you wanted to stay within the same cabinet cutout, I recommend replacing your current unit with another microwave/oven wall combination unit, such as the JKP90, which requires similar cutout dimensions to your current unit.

Thank you for your question. I hope this helps!

Hello Mike,

This is Donna with GE and I wil be happy to assist you.

Model JE1456KW, no longer has this replacement part available. Do to the age, it would not be cost effective to invest in repair versus replacement.

If the microwave is built-in with a trim kit, the current model today is JEB1860DMWW and requires trim kit JX2027DMWW. The new trim kit would need to be used as screw hole locations have changed and cosmetics. The cutout needed is larger in width and the sides may need to be shimmed out or altered slightly.

Height: 16-3/4 ± 1/16
Width: 25-1/2 ± 1/8
Depth: 22" MIN. receptacle in cabinet 19-1/2" MIN. receptacle outside cabinet

Should you have addtional questions, please let us know. We are always happy to help!

Hello,

This is Donna with GE and I am happy to help with your question on the replacement wall oven.
I am confused with the information you have provided. The cut-out required is the same for all current 27" cabinet models. Older models required a cut-out of 24 3/4". It is possible the sides would need to be shimmed out.

Model JKP26G is a 27" double oven. It is not a microwave/oven combo. Following is the cut-out required.

JKP26G Cutout Dimensions:
Height: 49 11/16" min - 50 1/8"h max.
Width: 25"
Depth: 23 5/8".

Model JKP90DPBB is a 27" Electric Wall Oven with Built-in Microwave. It requires the following
cabinet cut-out.

Height: 41-1/4
Width: 25"
Depth: 23-5/8

Should you have any addtional questions, please let us know.

1. Press Self Clean pad 2. Use number pads to enter desired cleaning time, if a time other than 4 hours is needed. You can change the cleaning time between 3 and 5 hours, depending how dirty your oven is. 3. Press the START pad. The door locks automaticly. The display will show the cleaning time remaining. It will not be possible to open the oven door until the temp. drops below the lock temp. and the LOCKED or LOCKED DOOR light goes off.
To stop a clean cycle, press the CLEAR/OFF pad. When the LOCKED or LOCKED DOOR light goes off, indicating the oven has cooled below the locking temp., you will be able to open the door.
They recommend to open a window or using a ventilation fan during the first self clean cycle.
