I read on the reviews for 18" pantry that people were not able to stain the sides. It obviously caused problems. I was wondering if anyone had the same issue with this particular pantry?

You would have to purchase the side panel, which is sold separately. I think it is around $20 per side. I used beadboard since that is what I have on my walls. My cabinet is painted.

It is not stainable because it is particle board on each side. You can cure that problem by installing a wooden skin (1/8" veneer) over the particle board.

Yes, you would need to drill a hole in the back for access to your electrical outlet. I would place on the bottom shelf as the other shelves have plastic shelf supports and might not handle the weight.

a small microwave might fit - BUT it is only one big door on the upper portion and I would think it would be dangerous

yes. It would have to hook up electrically through a new hole in the cabinet.

Hi Grandmah, while it would be nice to have the microwave out of the way, you should not operate the unit in a closed space. The microwave needs to have ventilation. This would be a very dangerous practice.
