Any suggestions on how to attach this seat to a Kohler one piece toilet? Too bad the bolt isn't slotted for a screwdriver.

It can be attached, but the back of the lid isn't flush with the toilet. Would it hurt to break off the plastic fringe at the top of the bolt?

Hi Paul,

The "height" of the toilet seat is measured from the front of the ring to the center point of the hinge bolt hole. If you measured from the front of the seat to the very end of the hinge, your measurement will be slightly longer than what is normally measured.

In general, seats come in two sizes. There is a visual size guide that can help on Home Depot's product page. Click on "More Info" and the "Instructions / Assembly" PDF.

Often you measure the bowl from the center point of the bolt holes in the back to the front tip of the bowl. If that size is in the 16.5" range, we consider that a "Round" size bowl. If it's 18.5", it's considered "Elongated".

You should be confident buying a seat that's then Round or Elongated to fit your bowl if you know the your toilet is Round or Elongated.

I hope that helps!

Hello, Chuck1,
We regret any inconvenience you have experienced, and we assure you that we are anxious to retain you as a satisfied customer.
Bemis Manufacturing offers a one year manufacturing defect warranty that is handled through the location of purchase. Please return your defective seat to the store for immediate warranty exchange. A receipt is not needed. Place your item in a clear plastic bag. The retail store does not have to handle the toilet seat in any way, other than to dispose of it for you. They will simply view the damage and give you a new warranty seat in exchange. You may have the store call us at 800-558-7651 while you are there if they need assistance. We will help walk them through the warranty exchange policy in place between our two corporations.

Mine did the exact same thing after 4 -5 months. If you go to Bemis's website, you can fill out an e-mail request to their customer service dept. However, it stated that if you are within your 1-year warranty period, you can take it back to the store. I had my receipt, so I went back to Home Depot and got a refund without any trouble. I liked the seat so well that I bought the same one again. However, I made sure I saved this receipt, too, just in case. I hope the second seat doesn't fail, because I like the design.

Hi ruddness,

Sorry to hear about your trouble.

If the ring still closes slowly but the cover does not, there's likely something wrong with the hinge mechanism. If it's still within it's 1-year warranty period, bring it back to the store for an exchange.

Regards,

Hi MC,

In terms of features, these two models are exactly the same. The differences are more subtle:

201SLOW
Available at Home Depot Stores (as-well-as HomeDepot.com)
Available in White (000 color code) and Bone (006 color code) colors.

200SLOWT
Available on HomeDepot.com.
Available in nearly 100 colors for color matching that Avocado Green or Regency Blue seat in your home. =)

I hope that helps!

Hi there,

This model toilet seat does not accommodate fuzzy or fabric seat covers. If you prefer to use a lid cover, a molded wood toilet seat model may be a better choice for you. I hope this has helped!

Thank you for your inquiry about receiving different colors in our slow-close round toilet seat. This toilet seat does come in the color bone and should be available for purchase right on the shelves at your local Home Depot as the colors they stock are White and Bone. If not, they can special order in that color for you if you give an employee the model number along with the color code. The information you would need to provide them with is model number 200SLOWT 006, from there they can order the product for you. I hope this information has helped!

Hi Jen,

The hole in the ring has the following dimensions at the widest points:

width: 8.375 inches
length: 10.25 inches

This is a closed front ring, so it doesn't have a "hole" in terms of a hole in the front of the seat, in case your questions was referring to that.

I hope that helps!
