Hi Sage,

Pieces are available to adopt this faucet to the 7/16 inch size.

You will most likely have to purchase them from a plumbing supply house.

Hi Martin630,

You will need to purchase an adapter, that will allow you to attach the 1/8 inch line to the faucet.

You may buy the adapter at your local Home Depot or any plumbing supply house.

Thank you for your question. That hole on the side of the unit is there to supply the air for the air gap lines you have attached for your filtration system. That is just a hollowed out space so if you are getting a sound coming from that area, the sound is coming from one of the lines that you have attached. Check those lines and make sure you have them set up to run freely and straight. Figuring out what line is making the noise will correct that noise issue.

Question

Why does water flow out of the small hole on the base?

Often, when the drinking water faucet is turned on, water flows out of the small hole in the side of the base of the faucet. The installation is on a reverse osmosis system.

If the filtration system used is a simple system
with one outlet and is not a reverse osmosis system
that requires a drain, then skip to step 4.
If a drain line is required to run through the
faucet's integral air gap for a reverse osmosis
(RO) system, connect the 1/4" drain line from the
unit to the smaller barb on the the bottom of the
faucet. Connect the 3/8" line from the faucet to
the drain. This drain line works by gravity. Make it
as short and straight as possible, with no dips or
loops.

All reverse osmosis systems I have installed have a drain to flush the impurities. If your system has a drain already and a fresh water supply, the output from the reverse osmosis system would feed directly into the threaded 3/8 inch line in the base of the faucet. In this case only one line would be connected to the faucet and the two barrbed connectors, 3/8 and 1/4, would have no connections.

Thank you for your question. Although we just service the faucet, we do know that if you have a Filtration System and the filter is old, it can effect the flow to the faucet. We suggest you follow the Filtration System’s Manufacture recommended instructions on when to change the filters for optimum performance from both the system and the faucet.

Question

Is the Air Gap on this faucet used only for the filtration system, or can it REPLACE the Air Gap already installed for my dishwasher?

Asked by
Mimaw
California
about Replacement Filtration Faucet in Stainless Steel on
January 30, 2014
I just realized I may not understand what the Air Gap feature for this water filter faucet is used for. My contractor's expert plumber said he'd never installed a drinking faucet with an air gap, and wanted me to get one so he could study how it works. My sink has three of the four holes punched out, which are being used for the main faucet (one handle, one hole), a spray nozzle, and an air gap for the dishwasher. I was thinking the Air Gap feature on this drinking faucet for the filtration system would replace the air gap for the dishwasher, which would mean I wouldn't have to punch out the fourth hole on my sink. To do so would make the placement too crowded and affect the function of the faucets and sprayer. Maybe the reason my contractor and his plumbers haven't done this before - used an air gap drinking faucet to replace the air gap for the dishwasher, so that hole does double duty - is because that ISN'T the way it works... Please HELP! Thanks~

Thank you for your question. That hole on the side is for the two air gap lines that are coming off the bottom of the unit. If you are using those lines for an R.O. system, the water is coming from what you have hooked up to those side lines. You want to make sure your fresh, filtered water is attached to the 3/8 threaded line and check the lines you have connected to the side lines to see why the water is backing up and coming out of the side hole.

Question

Adjustable flow rate?

Asked by

November 27, 2013
The spec sheet says "no" to the "adjustable flow rate" spec. Am I correct that this means the handle has only "on" or "off" positions? An answer to another question states that the handle moves forward or backward, and I would like to be able to control the water flow rate and this one matches the main faucet best for style and finish.

Thank you for your question. This is a faucet that is used for water delivery from a filtration system. Sometimes a faucet is provided with the filtration system and this faucet can be used as the replacement for one of those faucets if, for instance, you are wanting a certain finish to match your kitchen faucet or other fixtures. It can also be used if the system did not come with a faucet.
