Mine is loud too. I just ignore the noise, as it performs well at cleaning clothes. It has only jumped out of place when loaded with very heavy items, not on a regular basis.

This is not a top-of-the-line model. If you buy one that is, it should be quieter.

Hi - this is Cindy from GE and I'll be happy to help you. The Precise Fill feature is one of the reasons this washer is more energy efficient than models made a few years ago. This technology senses the amount of clothing you have in the washer and fills accordingly. There's not a way to turn this feature off or to choose the load size yourself. Washers that do allow you to override this feature will have a separate load-size knob on the backsplash. Thanks for your question!

I checked the Arm and Hammer bottle we have downstairs, it's has the HE logo on it. I'm thinking of getting this one too, ours is on it's way out. I think most detergents are this way now but I didn't check at the store (yet)

While this unit is a great size, GE does not recommend washing a king size comforter in any size washer we make. A queen size is the largest that we recommend washing in our washers. Otherwise we suggest sending a king size comforter to a laundry mat or dry cleaners for the best wash performance.

GE would recommend large items like a king size comforter be laundered in a commercial size laundromat or professionally done.

GE recommends that you load your laundry around the outside of the basket. To load this large item in the washer it would have to lie across the infuser which wouldn't produce the best washing results.

GE recommends the use of High Efficiency detergents in all Energy Star rated washers. HE detergents are formulated to work with low water wash and rinse systems. HE detergents reduce the oversudsing problems commonly associated with regular detergents. When using high efficiency or concentrated detergents, consult the product label to determine amount required for optimum performance. Excessive detergent will negatively impact wash performance. The new top load HE Hydrowave washer with Infusor wash technology provides excellent performance while using less water and energy than a traditional top load washer to get the clothes clean.
