Hello,

This is Donna with GE and I will be happy to help you with your question on the GE Adora 30 in. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range in Stainless Steel Model # JB710STSS.

Flat Bottom pans are essential for good cooking performance since the bottom of the pan needs to touch the glass for the best heat transfer. Most current brands sold today have flat bottoms. Much older, used cookware and/or thinner cookware will show signs of no longer being flat. Non-flat pans may crack the glass.

Use Medium or Heavy-Weight cookware.

* Stainless Steel is highly recommended. A sandwich clad bottom is especially good because it combines the durability and stability of stainless steel with the heat conduction and distribution of aluminum or copper.
* Heavy-Weight Aluminum cookware is also recommended. It conducts heat faster than other metals and cooks evenly. Aluminum residue sometimes appears as scratches on the cooktop, but these can be removed if cleaned immediately.
* Copper Bottom pans are also good, but they can leave residues on the cooktop that appear as scratches. These can be removed if cleaned immediately, but do not let a copper bottom pan boil dry. An overheated copper pot will leave a residue that will permanently stain the cooktop.
* Porcelain/Enamel pans give good performance only if they have a thick, flat bottom. Avoid boiling these pans dry, as porcelain can melt and fuse to the surface.
* Glass or Ceramic cookware is not recommended. These pans may scratch the surface. Glass is a poor conductor of heat so cooking times will be longer and they may require constant attention during cooking.
* Stoneware is not recommended. It may scratch the surface and will give poor performance.
* Cast Iron cookware is not recommended. If the cookware has a burr or rough spot, it will scratch the glass surface. Additionally, it is slow to absorb heat. Once this type of cookware heats up, especially on high heat, it holds an intense amount of heat which is transferred to the cooktop. This can cause the element to shut down as a response to the temperature limiters which indicate surface temperature is too high for cooktop components to handle.

I hope this helps. Should you have any additional question, please let us know.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry on the GE Adora 30 in. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range in Stainless Steel Model # JB710STSS.

Steam Cleaning:
* Standard clean, which means no lock needed
* 30 min “steam light clean ” cycle
* 1 cup of water
* Light soils
* Best results on door and window

Steps to Steam Clean:
1. When oven is cool, pour 1 cup water in center of oven floor
2. Touch “STEAM Clean” pad
3. Wait 30 minutes for cycle to end. Wipe out moisture & food soil

Self Cleaning: (cycle minimum 3 hours)

The self-clean oven is a smooth porcelain enamel-on-steel liner designed to withstand the high temperature from the self-clean cycle. The self-cleaning process uses a pyrolytic system by which the temperature inside the oven is raised so high that food soils in the oven will decompose. Internal oven temperature is raised to about 880 degrees F. At this point, food soils literally decompose into an essentially odorless, colorless vapor. (The amount of heat the self-cleaning process puts into the kitchen is about the same as that generated in cooking a normal meal).

I hope this helps.

There is a round well in the bottom of the oven area that you pour water to and set the oven to steam clean. The water evaporates during the cleaning cycle and is supposed to make the gunk easier to wipe out. The only difference between steam cleaning and self-cleaning is the addition of the water.

Hello,
This is Alison at GE. I am happy to assist you with your inquiry.

Yes, model JB710STSS has an in oven broiler; however the broiler pan is not included.

Most accessories that use to come standard with an appliance or now offered as an optional accessory. GE and most appliance manufacturers now offer these items as optional. GE and other manufacturers moved toward this trend in early 2007.

You will be able to purchase broiler pans/grids from the Home Depot parts department. They can be reached at 1-877-650-2121.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry on the GE Adora 30 in. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range in Stainless Steel Model # JB710STSS.

GE does not offer a grill/griddle for this model. We do not specify a specific brand to use. I would recommend to check with a specialty cooking shop or better department store that sells cookware to see what griddles are compatible for a smooth glass radiant top range.

Should you have any additional product questions, please let us know.

Hello Glo,

Thank you for your interest in the GE Adora Convection range model # JB710STSS.

All cookware used on the bridge burner feature of radiant cooktops, including griddles, should have a flat bottom..

I would recommend to check department stores and gourmet shops for griddles that will work with a radiant range bridge burner. It will accept a griddle size of 18" X 10" or smaller. This size of griddle will fit properly on the 17" X 8" element. If a larger griddle is used it will overlap onto the trim, causing the griddle to sit unevenly.

GE does not recommend specific brand names of griddles appropriate for use on a bridge burner.

I hope this is helpful! Additional questions, please let us know.

Hi, this is Kim with GE. Thank you for your interest in our GE 30" Free-Standing Electric Convection Range with Warming Drawer, Model Number JB710STSS. This unit has a burner with a simmer setting. It also has the PreciseAir Convection System. When convection baking, the fan reverses direction to allow air to circulate around the food. Performance testing has shown reversing the fan produces more evenly browned baked goods. Food cooks evenly so that there is no need to turn food or rotate pans.
PreciseAir Convection ovens have True European convection cooking. The oven has 3 heating elements:
A 6-pass broil element in the top of the oven
A 6- or 8-pass bake element in the bottom of the oven
A 2500 watt double loop element in the rear of the oven around the reversing fan
I hope this helps. If other questions come up, please let us know. Thank you for buying GE.

Hello Peggy,

This is Donna with GE and I will be happy to help you with your question on the GE Adora 30 in. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection range model # JB710STSS.

GE does not package the power cord with our ranges. Range power cords are sold separately to ensure that they comply with all state and local wiring codes. These codes vary significantly from state to state, and even, city to city. Since it is not possible to anticipate the final destination of a range as it leaves the assembly line and install the proper cord, the local dealer usually provides the power cord.

Should you have additional question please let us know.
