Hello Judy! No, you do not need to remove your ceramic tile. The Fasade Backsplash Panels can be installed over the tile. The wall to which you plan to install backsplash panels to needs to be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc. After you’ve cleaned the wall, be sure that it is dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper. Any porous material like highly textured drywall, plywood (or any raw wood without primer), and wallpaper unless removed, sanded and primed, will result in adhesive failure. Feel free to contact customer care for installation troubleshooting (800.434.36750).

There is a down draft vent between the cooktop and the backsplash. There is about three inches between the wall and the actual grates and another 5+ inches to the burner.

That is a good question. Thank you for asking. The adhesive used to adhere the panels to the wall is very aggressive and removing the panels will most likely damage the walls. As the panels are meant to last the lifetime of the kitchen, we do not have any tips for removal of the product. If you have any questions please call ACP at 800-434-3750. Thank you!

Hi Pegss,

While this product is rated for use in a bathroom, I would not use it in a shower due to the fact it will not be water tight.

The spray from the shower head will cause the tile to separate from the wall causing water damage to the wall as well mold and mildew problems.

Hello Pegss! Thank you for your question. Once you have your backsplash installed, the panels can be cleaned with soap and water only. Any harsh abrasives will damage the finish on the tiles. For this reason, we normally do not recommend installing our panels inside a shower or bathtub. For additional protection in high traffic areas (outside of tub or above shower) we recommend applying a silicone sealant for moisture resistance. This will ensure quality protection for years to come. Feel free to contact customer care for additiional troubleshooting (800.434.3750).

Hello Rosey! Thank you for your question! Even though the backsplash panels are fire-retardant, they can be deformed by excessive heat (over 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The panels can be installed above or behind most stoves. Be sure to keep direct heat sources – toaster ovens, cooking burners, etc., a minimum of 3 inches away from the backsplash panel’s surface. Please feel free to contact customer care for addtional installation tips (800.434.3750).

Hello Terri! Thank you for your question! We recommend that you use a latex or oil-based paint on the paintable white panels. It is also critical that you prime the panels before you paint them.

We don’t recommend that you paint the finished panels because paint will react with our faux foil finishes. The resulted color may not be the finished look you were hoping for. Please feel free to contact customer care for any questions or concerns (800.434.3750).
