Customer questions and answers for
Fasade 24 in. x 18 in. Traditional 1 PVC Decorative Backsplash Panel in Muted Gold

Transform an ordinary kitchen or bathroom into a stylish space. Decorative thermoplastic backsplash panels for use in kitchens and bathrooms provide the classic look of traditional tin backsplash at a fraction of the cost. Whether remodeling an entire room or simply accenting a small area, these backsplash panels create an instant designer look. Unlike traditional tin panels that require decades to acquire an antique look, these backsplash panels have that turn-of-the-century authenticity right out of the box. Finishes range from matte white or brushed aluminum to Bermuda bronze or cracked copper. Adding an artistic element to your kitchen or bathroom has never been easier. The backsplash panels can be cut with a snip, scissors or utility knife for quick and easy installation. Installs with 2-sided tape or polyurethane construction adhesive.

Great question! The wall to which you plan to install backsplash panels to needs to be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc. After you’ve cleaned the wall, be sure that it is dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper. Any porous material like highly textured drywall, plywood (or any raw wood without primer), and wallpaper unless removed, sanded and primed, will result in adhesive failure. If you use decorative tacks or nails to install the panels, you will not need to rip down the linoleum. But, if you use tape or construction adhesive, we recommend tearing down the linoleum before installing. Please contact customer care for additional installation troubleshooting (800.434.3750).

If there is any trim or molding, that would obviously need to be removed. I would say this pvc decorative backsplash panel would work really well as a "cover up" as long as the old surface is flat. I would also clean the old linoleum with a good cleaner (but don't sand it), to remove any oil or grease on the surface. I would then ask about recommendations for glue. It will look really great when it's done! I would say yes, this can certainly be done......good luck!

If there is no back splash attached to the counter top, then silicone caulk should be used at the junction of the counter top and the decorative back splash.

Hello! Thank you for your interest with ACP Backsplash Ideas! The Fasade panels can be installed behind your range as long as the panels are 3-4’’ away from the direct heat source AND do not exceed temperatures over 140 degrees. Generally a good rule of thumb is if the wall gets too hot for your hand, it will be too hot for the panels. They are not recommended behind a commercial grade range. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Please feel free to contact customer care for any additional questions at 800.434.3750. Thank you!
