This tile could be used on a counter top. When considering what tile you would like to install as a countertop, you’ll want to look for the tile’s PEI Rating. PEI Rating (short for Porcelain Enamel Institute) measures the tile’s resistance to abrasion from dirt. This is a PEI 3 tile which makes it “suitable for medium-duty residential floors including kitchens, halls, corridors, balconies, terraces and areas used more often with normal footwear and small amounts of dirt”. It is not likely that your countertop will be subjected to worse conditions that this. One thing to keep in mind with this tile is that it has a third fire glaze and is slightly textured, meaning there will be some slight dimension on your countertop.
