Thanks for your question! The best remotes for this fan are model numbers: 99119, 99121, 99122, or 99123. These remotes have 3 speed fan control, light dimming features, & a wall cradle. We apologize, but we are unsure of the price for these remotes. We recommend asking your local Home Depot Associate. Please use the model numbers when doing your search.

I installed my fan on a dimmer switch. You need to buy a special dimmer switch for ceiling fans and then the light can be adjusted to any brightness you like.

Hunter makes several universal remotes which will work with all of their fans or even other brands. This model does not come with a remote, but can be purchased as an accessary. Home Depot has many models of remote controls ranging in price from $20 and up.

Depending on what type of switch and wiring you have configured will determine the kind to use.

If you just want a switch that 'kills' both lights and the fan at the same time, then you'd need just basic wiring and a simple single pole switch.

However, if you want to split controls then you'd need one for the light and fan...this is especially true if you want to install a dimmer on them.

The only specialty dimmer would be a fan control. The lights would go on a standard dimmer, but the wiring must be separate so they can operate properly and separately.

I am very sorry that this happened. I know from experience that when you buy something you definiterly want what you paid for. If you just purchased the fan, please take it back to the store. There may be an issue with the inventory or your original blade irons might have been given to another customer with a blade iron issue.

Thank you for your question! Our downrods come in several lengths: 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 inches. The length of downrod you need will depend on how high your ceilings are, if your ceiling is sloped & you need to hang the fan at an angle for fan blade clearance, & how far down you want your fan to hang. These questions will point you in the right direction. Also if your ceiling is at angle, you will also need a Hunter angled ceiling mount kit. This will help the hanger ball fit properly in the canopy.

Hello! If you mount it with the shortest downrod that it comes with (short 2" downrod), it measures 17.06" from the ceiling to the bottom of the light kit. This is as close to flush mount as this ceiling fan can be installed. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
