How much open area above the door is recommended for ventilation/air circulation?

We are pretty much gutting our bathroom and can work some of the dimensions to our specific wants. I was going to order the 70" tall Levity, but am now considering the 74" so that someone taller than
5'!0" does not have to duck to enter the shower. With the 74" door, I would still have at least 9" between the top of the door and the ceiling. Is this adequate to circulate the air and prevent mold? Also, how much difference does it make to have the 3/8" thick glass, versus the 1/4"?
