Hello Adrian - this is Michelle with GE Appliances. This model PEB7226SFSS will fit into the same cutout dimensions required by your existing model JE1860SB. This new model will require the built-in trim kit JX7230SFSS (for a 30" finished width) or JX7227SFSS (for a 27" finished width). We do not recommend using an old trim kit with a new microwave. Thank you for checking.

Hello dermnurse - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. We're sorry to hear that your current microwave needs to be replaced and we're happy to help you find a great replacement model. The trim kit for your current microwave required a cabinet cutout dimension of 16-3/4" high x 25-1/2" wide. A great replacement model would be the PEB7226SF, which also uses a trim kit that requires a similar cutout dimension. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

January 11, 2016
I have an old JE1640GB 001 which is dead, so I need to find a replacement. It seems this one is close but a little bigger

Old one: (W x H x D) 23-21/32 x 13-5/16 x 18-5/16
This one: (W x H x D) 24-1/8 x 14 x 19-3/4

My cabinet seems to have more room so is this the right replacement or there is another better match?

Thanks.

January 11, 2016
I have an old microwave JE1640GB which is dead now. I need to find a replacement to put into the big hole of the cabinet. This one seems a little bigger and don't know it's good to fit in there with the trim kit. There is still some room in the cabinet. If not fit, what's the closest model?

The old one(JE1640GB) dimension is: W x H x D 23-21/32 x 13-5/16 x 18-5/16
This one is: W x H x D 24-1/8 x 14 x 19-3/4

Can anyone to help? And which trim kit to use if it will fit.

Thanks.

Hello Ahi - This is Michelle with GE Appliances. This model PEB7226DFWW will fit into the same cutout dimensions as your existing model. However, we must recommend replacing the liner (trim kit). The new microwave requires the kit JX7230DFWW for a 30" finished width or JX7227DFWW for a 27" finished width. It is not recommended to install a new microwave into a old kit that it was not designed for. Thank you for checking.

Hello Buffy,
I will be happy to assist you. Model PEB7226DFBB will work in the same cutout as your current unit.
http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Profile-2-2-cu-ft-Countertop-Microwave-in-Black-with-Sensor-Cooking-PEB7226DFBB/204478562?keyword=peb7226df
This model uses a different built in trim kit,
~JX7230DFBB (30 inch) or
~ JX7227DFBB (27 inch)
The cut-out dimensions are the same so you would not need to alter the cutout opening. However, you will need to use the trim kit that is required for this model. None of the built-in installation kits are totally interchangeable. GE recommends using the trim kit and hardware that is designed for the specific microwave.
I hope this helps. Thanks for checking with us!
