The easy-set control dial of the GE Profile Spacemaker 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave in White offers quick and easy adjustment of time and temperature settings. The microwave has 1,000 watts of power for an efficient performance and features built-in sensors that automatically set the proper power level and cooking time based on food moisture levels. The convection cooking system helps produce flavorful, beautifully browned results.

We bought this GE Micro/Convection oven to replace a previous GE Micro/Convection oven that we had installed when we bought our house in 1999. The Microwave function on the old model finally quit after 11 years. I was very happy to see the price is much less now (got if for $521 w/free delivery and old appliance haul off), we paid $900+ for the original model, not including delivery. We were looking at/wanted the GE Advantium 120, but I saw too many negative reviews for the 120 and didn't feel like running a 240V line for the Advantium 240, which seemed to fair much better than the 120 in the reviews. We had to wait a week for it to be delivered, you don’t realize how much you miss the microwave until it’s not there.
So far, we are very happy with this new model. I hope it lasts as long as the previous one. I was hoping that it could use the back plate and original installation holes as the old model, since the chassis and dimensions are almost the same, but that would have been too easy, right? But, that’s not a big issue.
This model has some updated sensor features that seem to be calibrated better than the previous generation, such as reheat, although some of the sensor features were deleted, such as (Combination Convection Baked Potato), which we used frequently. The fan is quieter and now has 3 speeds. The task light is much brighter, also. The interior is bigger by .5 cu ft (1.7 vs. 1.2) and now has the turntable again, but that’s not an issue, since you can turn the turntable off if the container you’re using is too big to rotate. We haven’t used the convection feature yet, but we got a lot of use out of that feature with the previous model, when needing a second oven, or when not wanting to heat up the kitchen with the main oven in the summer months. Convection Bake always seemed to work well, and I’m sure this model won’t disappoint.
Yes, I recommend this product.
