We have a 20 year old GE Dishwasher which is essentially the same as the new one. The new one is less than two years old and doesn't drain. Had I called a repairman (not my style) it would have cost at least $150 to repair this $349 dishwasher. Apparently after searching through several sites and calling a very nice repairman in Tennessee, we determined that there is a faulty timer. $85 from GE. $49-75 + shipping on line. We are very disappointed with this machine which has never been used more than 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately, experience has shown me that none of the appliance manufacturers are much different than the others. They use each others parts and you don't really know what you are buying until you open them up and find LG in Maytag, Invensys in GE, etc.
