I purchased a 1540 early this fall. the first failed within days (fan would not turn off). Retailer replaced it with a new unit. The second one died after six weeks. I have found out since then that this is an extremely unreliable model with massive number of control board issues.

What is meant by a self contained microwave oven?
It is an OTR (Over the Range) not directly integrated into the range.
