Centennial® 7.0 cu. ft. Super Capacity Gas Dryer
The Maytag Centennial 7.0 cu. ft. Super Capacity Gas Dryer accommodates large loads of laundry. A DuraCushion dryer drum causes less friction and wear on clothes during tumbling, and 7 cycle and 3 temperature options help you care for a variety of fabrics. The QuietSeries 100 sound package keeps operational noise to a minimum, and a reversible door allows you to best utilize space in your laundry room.

Great Basic Dryer,

This dryer has a large drum-seems bigger than a 7.0, a large door opening, and dries clothes very well. For this extremely low price, you won't get the extras (steam, time remaining, touch up, etc), but it gets the job done. I have mainly used the energy saver cycle and it has done very well. It actually dries better than some previous, more expensive dryers I've had with the extra features. The only con is the lint trap being on top can be a little messy. I've found that if you use a fabric softener sheet to clean it out, the mess is minimized. The only thing I'm unsure of is which cycle is the best to use for touch-ups. Overall, great dryer for an outstanding value. I hope it lasts.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great value, but a little rough,

I purchased this machine because a family member has the same model now for over 5 years without 1 repair. Also, my laundry room isn't configured right for a front loader. Finally, I got a great deal after Thanksgiving..
Positives:
1. great value(the washer and dryer together cost me less than my top loader I purchased 6 years ago)
2. quick cycles & simple to use
3. holds quite a lot for a 3.2
4. user selected water levels
5. spins out clothes very well-less time in dryer
6. no mold issues to deal with or extra monthly maintenance
It was installed by Home Depot, so I haven't had any issue with the machine having vibration issues or moving, even when I do full loads. There is some noise, but it's not excessive with the laundry room door closed. Some other problems reported may be due to a few defective machines, unlevel floors, or incorrect installation.
Bad points:
1. rough on clothing fibers (only 1 fast speed)
2. stains definitely require soaking and pretreatment. The clothes generally look and feel clean, but stains don't come out completely unless they are soaked and pretreated beforehand. (There is no special soak cycle, so just stop the machine to let clothes soak.)
3. warm water wash-alternates between hot and cold (I let this one fill up with water before I add my brights so they don't fade from the hot water)-I don't hear much of the "water hammer" described. It's a very faint sound. I think it depends on your water pipes.
The roughness is the only reason I didn't give it a 5. There are no holes or shreds in clothes, like I've had with the maytag bravos, but still a little rough on clothing fibers. It would be perfect if it just had another slower speed for delicates. Overall, it is a good buy for the price. At least, it will have less repair issues than most of the higher end maytag machines and it will hopefully last longer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This dryer is good overall. It has many features on it (sanitize, touch up, extra tumble, delicate, minutes remaining, etc).
Only two negatives. One is that the door of the dryer is small, considering the size of it. There is a metal notch attached to the top frame of the door opening that the door latches on to. Clothes frequently get caught on that when taking them in and out of the dryer. Also, my clothes don't feel as soft when I take them out. My previous dryer made them feel a little softer (but that might be the fault of the HE washer that goes with it, which I did not like).
Yes, I recommend this product.

I initially was excited to get this high-tech washer. I loved the digital display and it shows minutes remaining in cycle. However, the first night I got it, didn't complete a cycle. Called maytag service and got it repaired.
It only washes well on power wash cycle (which incidentally has the same settings as their whites cycle), but beats up your clothes (as evidenced in amout of piling, wear on new clothes, and large amount of lint collected in dryer). So, I tried washing in the cycles that use a little more water (bulky-63 min. and hand wash-37 min.). The hand wash is a little more gentle, but does not clean well. The bulky uses a little more water and cleans o.k. I was dissapointed in how it washed. It was even rougher than my old agitator and pulled strings out of some hems and was very rough on several towels. I guess that is because of its low water use and the clothes rubbing up on the impeller. I tried the soak cycle (30 minutes minimum), and it was o.k. Didn't make too much of a difference in stain removal (low water level). I expected a lot more from this washer. It looks better than it works. The basic requirement for a washer is to clean clothes well, without ruining them. I feel that this machine was only fair in performance. Don't be misled like I was by the extra features( electronic display, end of cycle signal, SS tub, minutes remaining in cycle), if your clothes come out worn and many stains aren't washed out. Luckily, HD agreed to return it that same week. I will be exchanging it for a machine that is not HE. Thank you HD for your great service!
No, I do not recommend this product.
