I was surprised to see what appears to be the same bulb for double the price ($19.97, maybe they are dimmable?) on the site! I have now replaced over the past 5 months, approximately 40 to 50 incandescent and CFL bulbs inside and outside my home with these bulbs. In nearly every case they are much brighter than the supposed equivalent. I have them in lamps, recessed lighting, outdoor fixtures, and they work beautifully. These are NOT dimmable but if that is not an issue, they are the best value I have been able to find and work just as well and provide the same, if not more light than the $50 flood/reflector LEDs which I have also tried. Converting to LED is initially a little expensive, but the savings over the years will be tremendous! I've waited about five years for an affordable bulb and this one is really good.
Pros: Easy to Use, Compact, Eco-Friendly, Very Bright, Nice Design, Easy Replacement, Easy Installation
Yes, I recommend this product.

If you're looking for a solution to the plain, stark appearance of recessed lighting (can lights) this may be just what you need. There are several models available by Hampton Bay and this is the easiest to install and have hang properly. I purchased two different styles and this one attaches with spring hooks to the base plate of the socket and has a small reflector cup. The other model requires removing the base plate, replacing it with a full reflector cup (cone) and clips inside the main lighting fixture (can) that I had trouble getting to stay in place. I highly recommend this one over the other. Plus, the pattern is more stylish. The only trouble I experienced was that the edges of the small reflector cup bends easily so you just have to be careful when installing and twisting into place. Also, you'll have to be careful changing the bulb so you don't 'unlock' the cup which is extremely close to the bulb. It took me about three hours to take down the old plastic trim, clean the fixtures and mount these new rims on 16 fixtures. I Liked them so much, I purchased and installed 8 more in another spot in my home. Overall, it is a beautiful well made product and greatly enhances the room. Hampton Bay has smartly designed their line of products to be flexible in style, yet allows you to mix fixtures and still have coherent look. I already had two Hampton Bay flush mount fixtures in the space and the these recessed rims match perfectly. They add a more finished, elegant look than the standard plastic rim associated with can lights. I used the 40W equivalent LED bulbs and they are bright and light the glass ring beautifully. Much brighter than the 65 reflector bulbs I had been using.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Cons: Difficult to Assemble

Does the EcoSmart, Model #864680, which is Bright White, also come in a Soft White

This bulb has the warm look of an incandescent bulb, unlike some LEDs which have the bright blue-ish color. I'm not sure that answers your question but I hope it helps!

How bright is it--what accounts for the price

This is supposed to be the equivalent of a 40W bulb, but I would say it might be closer to a 65W.. it is definitely brighter than the 65W reflector/flood bulbs I was using.

Is this product dimmable ?

This one is not dimmable. There is one for $19.97 that looks the same-- it might be dimmable.
