The Black & Decker Grass Hog XP 14 in. 7.2 Amp String Trimmer is designed to accomplish a variety of trimming and edging jobs. This trimmer's 14 in. cutting width, powerful motor and dual line help you quickly and easily cut through tough weeds, grass and overgrowth. Its automatic feeds spool uses centrifugal force to feed the line as needed so that bumping is not required. The trimmer offers a Groom 'N' Edge feature for versatile use.

I have other products from B&D that work great. That is why I chose this trimmer. But alas, like other reviewers, I came to find out that after about 10 hours use, yes 10 hours MAX, the drive gear/pulley melted and is now unusable. Replace the part??? $60 and change before shipping cost.... or just about the same as a new unit. Really a shame too, for it worked fine up until it had a "melt down". What would it cost to use metal instead of plastic? If it would have added $20 to the purchase price I would have no problem with paying it. As it is now, I feel that this product was designed to fail. I am not an engineer, but even I could see that this product was doomed to fail after I took it apart. Sorry B&D you have lost a customer here.
No, I do not recommend this product.
