I build reproduction colonial benches and use this to both highlight the grain, and give the deep color to the stains that give them age.. I usually apply 2 - 3 coats, buffing each down to produce a soft sheen, then finish them with mulitple coats of a quality paste wax.
Yes, I recommend this product.
